Assessment and Certification

First aid is a highly practical subject which means you’ll get the chance to perform numerous practical activities during the 3 days (CPR, the Recovery Position, etc). Whilst you complete each task, your tutor will assess your capability to make sure that you are performing each technique correctly.

In addition, you’ll sit a multiple-choice question paper.

You must pass both the practical assessment and the question paper to gain your certificate.

After passing, you’ll receive your certificate which is valid for 3 years. When your 3 years is up, a two-day refresher course is available if you wish to continue practicing. Bear in mind, the refresher course requires candidates to have an in-date First Aid at Work certificate.

Highfield Qualifications or NucoPlus accredits our First Aid at Work course which, in turn, is regulated by OFQUAL and CCEA.

Who needs First Aid at Work training?

First Aid at Work is suitable for any business or school.

The in-depth content makes it ideal for higher risk environments and for managing first aid in the workplace.

Your company’s risk assessments should identify your first aid requirements and outline the type and number of first aiders you require.

As part of my responsibilities at work I needed to undertake a first aid course, and having done several before I thought I knew what to expect. I was so pleasantly surprised by this course – really engaging, hands on, and challenging enough to get you thinking about real life situations rather than just mannequins on the floor! I really enjoyed the entire three days, and felt confident afterwards that I could put what I’d learnt into practice. I’d recommend this course to anyone, experienced and beginner.
