A really good course covering all the essentials, and with plenty of hands-on experience. The content, structure and delivery of the course were all great. The advanced notice of the ‘test’ at the end helped to maintain concentration! Also, the admin and communications before the course were all really helpful and professional, The facilities were excellent, including easy access to teas/coffees etc. Great venue all round. Would highly recommend!
Richard Falkingham –
One of our team members attended a first aid course. They said it was well-organized and very informative and he came away from the session feeling very confident about being able to give first aid as and when needed. We will definitely be using them again in the future.
Peter –
Good course. Alison was engaging and informative. The day was well structured giving ample opportunity to understand the material without dragging things out. Livius had plenty of tea, coffee & biscuits available. Made for a good day all round.
Nicole Wilcox –
This course was fantastic – and something that I believe everyone should do! Mark provided me with key information and made me feel comfortable during the course. There were many hands-on elements of the course as well as great knowledge given and explained – the perfect balance! I will be recommending this to everyone!

Brilliant course, it was kept interesting and even though I Do a annual CPR course I still learnt things I didn’t know. The tutor was Fab. Thank you
Paige –
Enjoyable day from start to finish. Very informative and professional from every member of staff. Tom was absolutely brilliant at making everyone feel comfortable during the group activity. Perfect balance of giving great information and also not making you want to fall asleep. 10/10, would definitely recommend.

The venue is easily accessible, good parking, and there is a cafe on site, with indoor and outdoor seating. Nicole was very good with corresponding before the course, and it was well explained what was happening on the day. Our trainer (Tom) was extremely knowledgeable and experienced in emergency situations, and good at getting everyone involved, making us feel at ease, with lots of opportunities to ask questions. I would highly recommend Livius Training. I came away feeling more confident in First Aid and thoroughly enjoyed the day.
Sharon Wanbrough (verified owner) –
Everyone enjoyed the course, the trainer was great and he explained things in terms everyone understood. He encouraged everyone to be involved and settled anyone’s nerves as the day went on so people didn’t feel uncomfortable during a group training scenario. It was easy and straightforward to book the course and I’ve always found Livius Training to be extremely accommodating to our needs.
Cas Beattie –
I was put at ease and welcomed by the Receptionist who explained about ordering lunch, where the loos were, etc. The course was well presented and maintained a good pace throughout the day with well timed breaks and plenty of complimentary drinks and biscuits. David Lonsdale explained things very well encouraging questions (no question too silly) and discussion. He made sense of the techniques he taught by explaining the rationale behind them which will definitely help should I encounter an emergency situation. I came away feeling much more confident about First Aid.
Location, parking, facilities and cafe excellent.
I will certainly recommend Livius Training Centre and look forward to returning when I next need to update
Chloe –
The course was very enjoyable, the trainer was fantastic, he explained things very well and in simple terms as well as getting everyone involved, being a very anxious person in a group setting I was made to feel very comfortable and enjoyed the day
Stephanie –
I’ve done a couple of Livius’ First Aid courses over the years and I would highly recommend it. The Trainer Mark is thorough and informative, keeps a good pace and, despite having done the course several times now, I always come away reassured and having learned something new. Mark is really friendly and gets everyone involved and offers his own experiences which is really helpful.
Thank you very much.
Andrew –
Excellent course, very informative, learned a lot. Also very well presented and enjoyable. A very worthwhile day.
Helen Cox –
We attended the first aid at work course last Saturday as a group for our juniors athletics club. The day was really well organised and the learning was at a really friendly and easy pace. We all really enjoyed it and on behalf of us all, we’d just like to say a big thankyou, especially to the trainer Mark Otley who made us feel at ease and who was extremely knowledgeable.
Sue –
Attended the course last week. The tutor David Lonsdale was an excellent teacher. He made you feel at ease, and his teaching methods were brilliant. He let us work through the techniques, so we knew the rationale of what first aid treatment was needed. He also shared some of his personal experiences which I know will help me remember what to do in an emergency.
I have attended first aid courses before and this was definately the best. I would definately recommend it.
Anouska Knowles –
Excellent and informative course provided by David Lonsdale. Lovely facilities. Would definitely recommend, one of the best courses I’ve been on!
Peter –
Very intersesting course which had the right amount of information for you to be able to take in easily. The tutor had a vast knowledge of information and seemed to be able to relay it to us in a concise and easy to understand way which may it a very enjoyable day. I would recommend everybody to do at least a emergency first aid course as it would be a better place if more people knew how to give CPR.
Even with the covid restrictions the whole experience was easy and enjoyable and the facilities are first rate. (Those that I used as I didnt use the cafe)
Ripon Race Course –
Once again a very instructive course with a free flowing learning environment.
Julie Bostock (verified owner) –
An interesting course which was run by David Lonsdale. The course is not only informative but David goes above and beyond to make it interesting with really good examples (stories of past experiences within first aid) along with trainee participation. I have done similar training else where and must say this is the best to date.
The facilities are bright and comfortable plenty of drink options with regular breaks and the food from the cafe is really good too.Highly recommend as interesting and good value for money.
Neil Waters –
A great instructor, who was very knowledgeable and a good speaker. I would definitely recommend this course and would book again in the future. Course was very informative and interesting with real life examples with passing information and knowledge to all students throughout the day.
Jo Dobbs –
The course was excellent and told us what we needed to know with lots of questioning to deepen our learning. Mark was engaging and provided anecdotes to help secure our learning. He engaged with all of us and responded to frequent questions with well informed answers. Breaks were timely and allowed us the chance to refresh in order to move onto the next topic. I have found Livius to provide top quality trainers and we always use them for first aid training for our staff.
Chantelle Neal –
Our course leader was excellent. The course was very informative and gave us enough information to understand what we needed to do without baffling us with too much information. I have left feeling confident I would know what to do in such an emergency. The facilities were very good. We had breaks that were set out perfectly with just enough time to do what you needed to do. The cafe was small but had good options for lunch. The site was easy to find. Would definitely recommend the course to others.
Thank you!
Gabrielle Scott –
An excellent course led by David Lonsdale, very informative and he didn’t just tell us what we needed to do he questioned us and then told us why we do what we do. There was 12 of us on the course and he had time for each and every one of us with Q&A’s, a booklet explaining everything and demonstrations. Refreshments provided at all times, 2 breaks and an hour lunch to break the course up and other great facilities on site such as a cafe and shop. I have been to a course with him before for Fire Marshall and would definitely go back if another course is needed!
David Wood –
Well organised and executed by Livius and David Lonsdale. Covered all the basics in just the right amount of detail. The day was informative and interesting and will be of benefit to our business. Would have no hesitation in recommending Emergency First Aid at Work to other organisations.
Craig Lawson –
We use Livius training for our organisational needs and as with all our courses this one was organised and ran in a professional manner. A great course with a good mix of theory and practical work to do. The instructor was very good and made us feel at ease immediately and there was no such thing as a silly question. All in all a positive experience as i have come to expect from Livius!
Gary Goodhall –
An excellent emergency first aid at work course!
A very well organised course, delivered in a way that helps you to understand some of the mechanisms of the body and the reasons for doing what you do (as opposed to just showing you what to do.) Teaching the course in this manner with the addition of some good practical activities really helps you to remember all the information required to perform first aid.
Combine this with clean, bright, modern facilities. Ample parking and an excellent cafe in close proximity to the training centre, it really is a great place to learn.
Highly recommended!
Elizabeth Green –

On site café but tea and biscuits provided throughout the day.
Course very well delivered, informative and friendly atmosphere.
Recourses were made available for you to take away with you.

The course was well run and organised. It is a long time since I have undertaken any first aid training and this was very informative, the trainer also made it relevant to individual work places when examples and scenarios were discussed. The trainer was friendly and made the group feel at ease which meant that the group activities and practical elements worked well. There was a good mix of theory and practical elements to the course. Thank you for an interesting and informative day.
