Qualify as a Youth Mental Health First Aider and lead the support for young people (8 – 18 years old) who are experiencing mental health issues.
This in-depth 2 day course, accredited by MHFA England, digs deeper into mental health conditions and the techniques you can use to support children and young adults in distress.
During the course, you cover topics such as recognising the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, preventing issues, the Youth Mental Health First Aid action plan and promoting recovery.
All in all, giving you the know how to take the lead on tackling mental health issues.

Course Contents
Over the 2 days, you build skills such as spotting the signs of mental ill health and providing support to those in need.
The course content is split into 4 sessions each lasting approximately ½ a day:

Assessment and Certification
The Youth Mental Health First Aider course involves a mixture of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. Unlike other courses, there is no formal assessment at the end of the day.
Therefore, all candidates that complete the course will receive a Youth Mental Health First Aider certificate accredited by MHFA England.
Your certificate is valid for 3 years, after which time, you must retake a course to continue working as a Youth Mental Health First Aider.
